Recap: Briggs Ranch Member Guest

Briggs Ranch’s signature event, the annual Texas Legends Member Guest, showcased the course’s impeccable condition and San Antonio’s enviable November weather the weekend of November 5 – 7.

The event kicked off Thursday morning with a Titleist Scotty Cameron fitting experience, setting each of the 48 teams up for success for Round 1 matches later in the afternoon. Friday brought cloud-free skies and a high of 82 as a backdrop for Rounds 2 – 4, thirsts quenched with morning Micheladas, and appetites sated with specialty bites near #4 and #14.

A cigar roller brought some novelty to the evening, as did a Garrison Brothers whiskey tasting. Axe throwing, ping pong, corn hole, and a closest-to-the-hole challenge under the lights at #18 rounded out the evening. Jeff Storms won the challenge with a chip that landed just six inches from the pin.

The Texas Legends Dinner featured delights from Chef Josh and team, including their member-favorite hog roast and bourbon donuts.

The event wrapped Saturday morning with Round 5 matches and the Shootout to determine the winner.

Congratulations to overall winners Greg Bixler and his son Bond Bixler (from Zionsville, Indiana), who, along with a few other teams, have played in at least one Member Guest at each Dormie Network club through the years. This was their first big win.
