Briggs Ranch Caddie Elsa Diaz Has Her Eyes on the LPGA Tour

Meet Elsa Diaz, she’s chasing her LPGA Tour dreams while caddying at Dormie Network’s Briggs Ranch. Her caddie story is a reminder that golf is more than a game; it's where friendships are forged and memories are made. That’s the Dormie Network experience, where every club is your home club and you create meaningful connections with golf and those you play it with.

For golfers like Elsa Diaz hoping to make it as a professional, finding ways to stay connected to the sport and honing their skills while earning money is a challenge. That’s why caddying ended up being the perfect fit for Elsa.

A golfer friend shared with Elsa that Briggs Ranch, just outside her hometown of San Antonio, Texas, was looking to add to the club’s caddie pool. The flexibility of caddying appealed to Elsa, who needed options to fund her professional golf career.

Elsa typically works 5 to 10 loops per week at Briggs, often taking loops with corporate members. Caddying at Briggs Ranch has given her the flexibility to keep working on her game, and individuals of different skill levels have sharpened her skills in green reading and course management. It also opened doors for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“I once caddied for a fun group of ladies for several days. A few months later, one of them was attempting to qualify for the U.S. Senior Women’s Open and reached out to me to caddie for the tournament. She flew me out for her qualifier and she made it through! So when it came time for her to play in the Open, she once again turned to me as her caddie. I got to caddie for her alongside big legends like Annika Sorenstam and Juli Inkster. I will never forget how a fun ladies golf trip took me all the way to the U.S. Senior Women’s Open and I got to be inside the ropes with women’s golf’s biggest icons.”

Elsa says she started caddying to fund her professional career, but she’s gained much more than that. “I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from all over the country with different backgrounds and stories.” She’s also connected with individuals who have offered financial assistance as she chases her dream of being on the LPGA tour, to host her for tournaments, and connect her with others who might be willing to help. “Plus, caddying has helped my golf game tremendously!” she says.

Elsa says above all, caddying has taught her that at the end of the day, golf is a game that must be enjoyed, regardless of the outcome.

Dormie Network and Briggs Ranch are proud to support individuals like Elsa pursue their aspirations, all while creating an enjoyable time on the course.
