Clint Tolbert, Chief Agronomy Officer

Clint Tolbert grew up in a farming community in Commerce, Georgia, about an hour and a half northeast of Atlanta. As a dual-major in turf grass management and soil sciences at the University of Georgia, he worked alongside Dr. Ronnie Duncan, PhD (widely considered the pioneer of the salt-tolerant turf paspalum). After serving as assistant superintendent for Eagle Green Limited, which owns seven golf courses (three of which saw periods of substantial construction under his direction), Clint moved to Hawaii, where he ran Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. There, he employed his unique expertise with paspalum to successfully renovate all tees and a number of greens. Several years later, Clint was approach by Nanea Golf Club in Kailua-Kona, where he signed on as director of agronomy.

Over his decade-plus tenure with Nanea, Clint completed substantial renovations of three holes, as well as green and green surround reconstructions, tee builds, and irrigation alterations. In addition to paspalum, he is experienced in bentgrass, zoysia, bermuda, blue grass, and fescue.

As Dormie Network’s Chief Agronomy Officer, Clint works with agronomy teams across the network to plan, implement, and execute short- and long-term agronomic initiatives, construction projects, and maintenance priorities.

“Dormie Network is fundamentally about exceptional golf,” explains Clint, noting the accolades of the golf course architects behind the impressive portfolio. “These are championship-caliber courses, and our focus is on exceeding our guests’ expectations for course quality with every single round they play.”
