Supporting Nonprofits through In-Kind Donations

Dormie Network Philantropy

Since Dormie’s inception, philanthropic support has been a key driver in who we are as a company, starting with local Nebraska organizations near ArborLinks in 2016. Over the past couple of years, we’ve partnered with more and more nonprofits, providing a way to raise critical funds that meet the needs of their organizations while delivering unbelievable experiences to their donors.

By donating memberships and stay and play packages to nonprofits our members, employees, and partners support, we seek to build a sense of pride not only within the organization and membership but also a pride in our communities. This, to us, is what it truly means to be a part of the Dormie family.

Partnerships and Philanthropic Commitments so Far in 2020

Dormie takes pride in the nonprofit partnerships we’re forming, from youth golf initiatives with Youth on Course and The First Tee, to cancer education, research, and awareness with the American Cancer Society, as well as military nonprofits such as Folds of Honor and the Travis Manion Foundation. We have supported small community nonprofits to large national groups, and welcome all to visit our giving page to inquire about how Dormie can help them raise more money.

To date, more than 235 memberships have been committed to nonprofit organizations all across the United States as well as 56 stay and play certificates, totaling a donated retail value of $3,928,000 since we launched the initiative in February!

“Dormie Network properties really move the needle for our fundraisers,” said Renee Edlund, Strategic Director at the American Cancer Society. “Event attendees are impressed that we are able to feature donations of this caliber and gain access to these incredible courses.”

Building on this success are our key partnerships with GolfStatus and CaddieNow. Both organizations understand the impact of giving back and can get Dormie Network services in front of their clients, both golf course and nonprofit, all across the country. Other successes have been with large national nonprofit partners who are able to reach across their network of chapters to find marquee events where destination golf is appealing to their donors and bidders.

How We're Helping to Increase Donations Amid a Worldwide Crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic is on an unprecedented scale, and the rippling effect on our economy and way of life is truly something none of us have seen globally in our lifetime. Nonprofits large and small are definitely feeling the fallout: when a nonprofit has an event that brings in upwards of thirty percent of their revenue for an entire year, and that event is canceled, it truly is catastrophic.

We are seeing many of our nonprofit partners move to an online auctioning system (such as Charitybuzz or even on internal platforms), so they can try to recoup as much money as possible with their bidders and minimize losses by not having an in-person event. They are seeing some early successes in this model, and it’s something for all nonprofits to consider if event dates aren’t flexible for any reason.

Still Time for Nonprofits to Request 2020 Donations

We are pleased to have had the chance to help nonprofits raise critical funds for their missions and have begun building strategic long-term initiatives with The First Tee, PGA Reach, Folds of Honor, American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Evans Scholars Foundation, The V Foundation for Cancer Research, Feherty’s Troops First Foundation, and the Els for Autism Foundation, to name a few.
