Holes We Love: Victoria National

Four of our favorites in Indiana
Tanner Staples, Assistant Golf Professional

Consistently ranked among the top golf courses in America, Victoria National delivers incredible golf with the character, charm, and hospitality of Southern Indiana. These four are definitely some of my favorites.

Victoria National #2

Hole #2
Par 4 (197 – 442 yards)
Definitely a risk/reward tee shot. Anything from a long iron to a driver is in play off the tee, leaving you a short iron to a wedge into an elevated two-tiered green. Any tee shot that finds the fairway is setting you up for a good chance at birdie.

Victoria National #5

Hole #5
Par 3 (109 – 212 yards)
One of our signature par-threes at Victoria. Can play long depending on the tee selection. Wind gusts can cause havoc as it is a demanding tee shot, any tee shot that finds the green is a plus.

Victoria National #16

Hole #16
Par 3 (95 – 208 yards)
Another one of our signature par-threes. In my opinion, this is one of the hardest holes on the course, and sitting in the middle of “The Gauntlet” demands a precise tee shot. Very narrow green guarded by water on almost all sides. Tough shot for all players no matter the skill level.

Victoria National #18

Hole #18
Par 4 (290 – 432 yards)
Finishing a round at Victoria is never easy—just when you think you’ve made it, you’re standing on 18 tee looking at a tight fairway that dog-legs left to right with water hugging the fairway all the way down the right side. Driver is not needed here, but the longer the approach, the harder it will be to hold the green. Tee shot placement is key on the last at Victoria.
