Dormie Network Acquires Hidden Creek Golf Club in New Jersey
Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey has been purchased by Dormie Network—a national network of private destination golf clubs. With the acquisition, Hidden Creek becomes the sixth golf club in the network's national portfolio. The announcement comes on the heels of the August 2018 purchase of Victoria National in Newburgh, Indiana. In addition to Victoria National and Hidden Creek, Dormie Network also includes Pinehurst's Dormie Club, Roanoke's Ballyhack Golf Club, Nebraska City's ArborLinks, and San Antonio's Briggs Ranch Golf Club. The growing network's full-service accommodations, premium amenities, and renowned courses offer members a uniquely national, pure golf concept ideal for business or leisure.
Hidden Creek at a Glance
Hidden Creek Golf Club sprawls 750 acres of woodlands and rolling hills in Egg Harbor Township, just outside Atlantic City, New Jersey. The private club opened in 2002 to widespread critical acclaim, ranking 72nd among Golf Magazine's top 100 courses in the U.S. In 2008, it received Golf World's Reader's Choice award. The 18-hole heathland-style Coore-Crenshaw design measures 7,023 yards and features bentgrass fairways, strategically carved bunkers, dramatic elevation changes, and subtle green contours. The course has been host to such events as the U.S. Women's Open qualifier (2004 and 2017), the U.S. Senior Open qualifier (2004), the U.S. Open qualifier (2014 and 2018) and the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship (2015).
The club's 18,000-square-foot clubhouse includes a fully equipped golf shop, fine and casual dining, a billiards room, locker rooms, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The Lodge at Hidden Creek includes eight bedrooms and two great rooms, providing well-appointed on-site accommodations for members and guests.
A Growing Network
Dormie Network started in 2016 with ArborLinks and Ballyhack Golf Club. The acquisitions of Briggs Ranch Golf Club and Dormie Club followed in 2017, then Victoria National in August 2018. Each club has seen substantial investments in the way of capital improvement projects, which are currently underway or in the planning stages at every club in the network. Projects include clubhouse renovations and constructions, cottage constructions, new maintenance facilities, on-course comfort stations, bunker renovations, the construction of a state-of-the-art TrackMan performance center, equipment and golf cart fleet upgrades, and more.
"Our focus immediately following an acquisition is the golf course and the attention and resources it may need from the standpoints of equipment, staffing, and technology," explained Dormie Network President Zach Peed. "We then begin to evaluate investments in service staff and amenities to the extent that they enhance the experiences of members and their guests."
With the acquisition, current Hidden Creek members will transition into Dormie Network's three membership classifications (regional, national, and corporate) over time. Under new ownership, the club will also see upgrades to its maintenance equipment and golf cart fleets. Also in the works are evaluations of agronomic needs and several additional capital improvement projects.
"We are honored to add another exceptional Coore-Crenshaw golf club to Dormie Network's portfolio with the purchase of Hidden Creek Golf Club," said Peed. "With the addition, we welcome Hidden Creek's members to the Dormie Network family, while at the same time adding value for current members and their guests."
