The Ultimate Guide to Planning a Trip to Hidden Creek

Serene Luxury In Aged Woodlands

Hidden Creek | Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey

Do you find yourself seeking a serene round of golf? We recommend Hidden Creek. Outside of town but not far from Atlantic City, this masterpiece is carved from the middle of a forest with luxurious accommodations. The Atlantic breeze flows through Hidden Creek, giving a shore aesthetic to the inspired cuisine and expansive houses that are a perfect match made in heaven for golf groups of any size.

Covering 750 acres of aged woodlands, the 18-hole course is a colorful walk in the woods. The blanketing silence of the forest creates a course that feels completely your own. It may be a peaceful landscape, but this Coore and Crenshaw design gets challenging as you go, affirming a fair test for all player levels.

With a nod to the northeast, the clubhouse and accommodations are a casual, fun setting. The clubhouse exterior, with its classic shake siding and stone pillars, hints at the warm welcome that awaits inside. It’s where old-world charm meets the relaxing coast. The heart of the club is the clubhouse, home to the golf shop, main dining room, bar, private Billiards Room, and outdoor patio. Four spacious houses, accommodating 64 guests, are a luxurious home away from home.

What Members Say About the Hidden Creek Experience

Even a beautiful course like Hidden Creek has its challenges, and members agreed that hole #12 is the most difficult. Honorable mentions for scariest holes at Hidden Creek are #4, #6, and #9. On the other hand, holes we love are #3, #8, #11.

But don’t take our word for it: Hidden Creek has earned numerous awards, including #12 Best Private Course in New Jersey (Golfweek, 2024) and #118 Best Modern Course in the U.S. (Golfweek, 2024).

Hidden Creek hole 12 overview

“In my opinion, #12 is the scariest hole, especially for those that don’t hit the long ball off the tee. Starting with an uphill tee shot, if the player is not capable of hitting roughly a 250-yard drive, they are left with a 200+ yard second shot into a green guarded by bunkers on the left and a very diabolical green, making par a difficult score. Making a bogey and moving on to the next hole is not a bad thing. The best way to attack this hole is to try and stay down the right side the entire way, so you can stay away from the bunkers and native areas on the left.” – Brecken Whitfield, Lead Assistant Golf Professional
